Using voice input in MAIA
MAIA has built-in dictation. You speak your request and MAIA writes the text straight into the chat input. This is handy for longer requests or when you can't type right now.
Dictating
Section titled “Dictating”- In the chat input, click the microphone icon next to the send button.
- The first time, allow your browser to use the microphone.
- Speak your question or task. The recognised text appears in the input as you speak.
- Click the microphone icon again to stop dictating.
- Check the text, edit it with the keyboard if needed and send the message.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Text you have already typed stays in place while you dictate.
- MAIA shows right at the input when the microphone is blocked, the connection drops or dictation is currently unavailable.
- Dictation is switched on by default in new workspaces. If you don't see the microphone icon, contact your workspace admin or support@getmaia.ai.
- Check dictated technical terms, names and numbers before sending.
Alternative: your operating system's dictation
Section titled “Alternative: your operating system's dictation”You can still use the dictation built into Windows or macOS. Click into the MAIA input field and start dictating:
